Petrofac, a leading international services provider to the energy sector, has demonstrated its ongoing investment in the East of England by signing a new partnership with industry led membership organisation EEEGR (East of England Energy Group).

The agreement, which is designed to support skills and education, underpins the commitment of each party to build local capability in the hydrogen, carbon capture, offshore wind and waste to value sectors, and will ultimately support the UK’s net zero efforts. With 40 years of experience delivering energy projects across the world, Petrofac is well placed to support EEEGR’s ambition to put the East of England at the forefront of the UK’s energy industry.

The sponsorship agreement will be cemented by a digital launch event taking place on the 23rd September which will highlight Petrofac’s broad capability within new and renewable energy and how to engage in supply chain opportunities within both the East of England and internationally. Details on how to register for the event are available on EEEGR’s website.

EEEEGR’s Executive Chair, Martin Dronfield, said: “We are really excited to welcome Petrofac as a corporate partner and even more excited to help them move forward with their own growth plans in the East of England. Petrofac is a leading energy services company that helps its clients meet the world’s evolving energy needs, they have a long history of being associated with our region and the Southern North Sea and to have them associated with EEEGR and the East of England underpins the region’s importance in the energy transition and the UK’s path towards net zero.”

The sponsorship will see Petrofac support EEEGR’s core programmes, including Skills for Energy and Clean Energy technologies. Working together, EEEGR and Petrofac will build a pipeline of talented individuals for the current and future wellbeing of the energy industry. In addition to its sponsorship, Petrofac is keynote speaker at EEEGR’s flagship conference and exhibition; SNS2022: Energy Integrated in the East, which will take place on the 2nd and 3rd March next year.

Anne Haase, Business Development Director for Petrofac, said: “A significant local employer, Petrofac has designated the East of England as one of our global New Energy hubs. We are leveraging our UK and international experience of Hydrogen, Wind, Waste-to-Value, Emissions Reduction and Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage projects to support the decarbonisation of the region, create opportunities for our growing team, and underline our continued commitment to the UK.”
