A health and safety-related conference and exhibition is set to return to the north-east for the third year with a fresh speaker-line up and a new, focussed format.
The Safety Expo 2017 will take place on Friday, 19 May in Kintore, Aberdeenshire from 11am-2.30pm. The event will open with a series of short presentations and equipment demonstrations, followed by a networking lunch, open exhibition browsing and stand activities.
The Safety Expo organisers, practical health and safety training provider AquaTerra Training and creative print specialist XIC, have refined the event formula in acknowledgement of the pressures facing health and safety professionals.
“Since its inception in 2015, we have grown and reshaped the Safety Expo to continually improve the event for those attending,” said Stephen Ferguson, Training Manager, AquaTerra Training. “We all have busy working lives and time out of the office can be difficult to justify. For this reason, the 2017 Safety Expo has been streamlined to deliver topical and relevant content in a more focussed format and timescale.
“That said, the Safety Expo 2017 remains true to the original event ethos: to act as a platform for smaller, niche QHSE specialists to showcase their solutions, products and services to companies in the local area. We are delighted to welcome many returning exhibitors as well as some new ones, along with a fresh programme of conference speakers.”
The speaker line-up on 19 May will include trauma stress management experts Ian Clark and Paul Barrett from IED Training Solutions, who will deliver a presentation on Trauma, Recovery and Resilience. Mark Walker of behavioural change consultancy Optimus Seventh Generation will present on Creating a Culture of Care and magicians and facilitators Fifth Dimension will deliver magically enhanced safety messages. Falls from height remain one of the most common causes of fatal injuries and visitors to the exhibition will also witness a live demonstration of rescue when working from height.
The Safety Expo 2017 will take place at AquaTerra House, Midmill Business Park, Kintore on Friday, 19 May from 11am-2.30pm. The event is free to attend, and includes lunch refreshments, however spaces are limited.
