Costain worker Hayleigh Pearson has been announced as the winner of the Young Professional category at the 2016 Offshore Achievement Awards held recently in Aberdeen.
The award recognises the professional capability and the wider contribution made to the offshore industry by a man or woman aged 35 or under.
Pearson was acknowledged by the judges for her outstanding progression from a graduate engineer to an integral part of Costain’s Upstream division.
She said: “Winning this award is a real honour. It’s a huge achievement to be recognised at such a prestigious event with so many industry peers in attendance, and I’m proud to represent Costain.
The support I have received has undoubtedly allowed both my technical skills and confidence to blossom, which is incredibly important for young professionals, in any industry.”
Frazer Mackay, Costain’s Sector Director for Oil and Gas, said: “We’re incredibly proud that Hayleigh has been recognised for her achievements – of which we’re positive there are far more to come. We believe that she’s a great role model for young graduates looking to enter the industry.”
