Decom North Sea (DNS), the representative body for the offshore decommissioning industry, is delighted to announce Professor Paul de Leeuw as the keynote speaker for its flagship event, Decom Offshore 2016.

This year’s annual conference, entitled “Decommissioning – Reality, Preparation and Action in a low price oil environment”, with event Principal Sponsor ABB, takes place on May 25th at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.  The conference will address the reality of the challenging environment in which we all find ourselves, decommissioning activity in a mature basin context, and will cover a wide range of topics including collaboration, innovation and market data insight.

Professor de Leeuw will set the scene for the conference, bringing his knowledge and insight from over 25 years’ industry experience with a number of major operators, and his current role as Director of the Oil and Gas Institute at Robert Gordon University. His keynote address will reflect on the challenges the industry has faced over the last 12 months, and will discuss the ways in which crucial investments such as the proposed Oil and Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) and Aberdeen City Deal can support economic recovery.

Commenting on the importance of Decom Offshore, Decom North Sea interim chief executive, Karen Seath, said: “I am delighted that Paul has agreed to be our keynote speaker for a second year, and look forward to hearing his insight into what is still a very challenging time for the North Sea oil and gas industry.

“Decommissioning remains a critical and developing sector full of opportunity, and one which continues to accelerate. The aim of this event is to bring together operators and the supply chain, to encourage the knowledge sharing and relationship building that is so crucial for the industry’s endurance at this pivotal time.

“The conference will provide unrivalled learning and networking opportunities for the expected 250 plus delegates and is a chance to gain invaluable insight from industry experts and strategic bodies. Our interactive workshops, parallel session, technology showcases and panel sessions on key topics ensure Decom Offshore is the ideal platform for companies to share innovative ideas and experiences, whilst developing important relationships for effective collaboration as we move forward. “
Delegate bookings are now open for Decom Offshore 2016. Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are also currently available. For further information on both, please visit http://decomnorthsea.com/event...
