Helix Well Ops has preliminary interest from a couple of Operator clients, and would therefore like to make their other clients and the market aware of a Category 1 (Cat) well abandonment campaign being proposed during quarter 1 2015. At this time it is Cat 1 wells only, but with a Cat 2 campaign scheduled and anticipated during mid-year 2015.

Please click here to view the Oil & Gas UK Guidelines for the suspension and abandonment of wells - please see page 45.

This vessel Helix Well Ops will utilise is the Skandi Constructor DP3 class vessel. This vessel (and Helix Well Ops) has a track-record of undertaking successful well abandonment work to date.

It is outfitted with a AHC 150Te multi-purpose tower for lifting and recovery of the abandoned wellhead / guidebase / any additional structures on the seabed or in-field. Additionally, the vessel has a 100Te over the side main crane for the same deployment/recovery operations. There are 2 x WROV's on-board which will support the subsea and P&A operations.

Please click here to view the vessel specification for further details.

The window of opportunity is:

  • Quarter 1 2015 – likely to be during the month of February.

All project management will be provided by Helix Well Ops. As the client, you only need to commit the candidate well(s).

This SoW will be delivered in good order and in a timely manner, to meet the above window, by Helix Well Ops project engineering department and from their Vessel.

Helix Well Ops are providing proposals for this SoW upon request. We encourage clients to commit to this shared project and reduce their liabilities at the same time.
