The 2019 conference, run jointly by Decom North Sea and OGUK, took place from 25 – 27 November at the Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews.
The industry will spend around £15 billion over the next decade on decommissioning on the UKCS and is committed to delivering a safe, environmentally sound and cost-effective outcome. Globally, the decommissioning market is estimated to be worth over $80 billion over the next ten years and companies which show mastery of decommissioning in the UK will be well positioned to secure a share of the rapidly growing international market. With these opportunities in mind, the 2019 conference encompassed several sessions focused on the latest decommissioning updates, trends and case studies.
The key objective of the annual conference was to bring a wide spectrum of oil and gas companies into one room; small supply chain companies, contractors and many of the large operators. Previous conferences have shown attendees to be actively involved and willing to contribute and discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with offshore oil and gas decommissioning in an open and engaging atmosphere.
